Family Summit:
Families are spending less time together than
ever and this lack of connection is eroding the
values that provide the cornerstone for our communities. It's time
for us to reconnect, re-focus and redirect our families to ensure
the brightness of the future.
The Family Summit brings parents and their teenage children together
for two and a half days to explore possibilities, expand their
skill-bases, set goals for the future and have fun while learning.
The whole event is designed to be experiential. There are no
lectures. Everything is delivered in an upbeat, highly interactive
manner. Families are challenged to work together through a series of
activities and begin to develop the attributes of high-performance
teams.
Throughout the event, students and parents will also split into
skill-specific break-out sessions where each group will learn
valuable life skills that are age and role appropriate:
-
effective communication strategies
-
conflict resolution
-
creative problem solving
-
goal setting and planning
-
role modeling techniques
-
family support strategies

During
these break-out sessions, students and parents will have
opportunities to connect with their peers, sharing insights
and learning experiences. This collaborative approach will
amplify the results as a group and our improvements as a
community.
In addition, the families will come together to work on
specific goals, developing detailed plans and support
schemes that will propel them forward. We will facilitate
the practice of communication skills and provide scenarios
for their use at home.
Family Summit is a great way to get families back on track,
supporting one another to be their best. Each and every
participant will leave with new skills, deeper understanding
and an experience that will bond their family together.
