PLAYER

Here it is. The simplest way to improve your grades in school. It requires no extra time, effort or homework and it's guaranteed to get amazing results.

Are you ready to be the ultimate PLAYER in the game of school?

Good. Here's how it works:

P - Posture
Sit up in your chair. Your brain and body are connected and communicate via electrical impulses that travel up and down your spine. When you slump, it cuts off the flow of electricity to your brain. You have a hard time paying attention, you yawn and you begin to fall asleep. It's really hard to learn when you're asleep. Plus, when you slump, your teacher will see you and your body language may lead them to believe that you are lazy, bored, uninterested or not a good student. These are not good impression to make on your teacher.

It's an easy fix. Sit up nice and straight. The brain gets what it needs and you'll be awake enough to learn.

L - Lean Forward
Now that you're upright, gently lean forward to relive more tension in your lower back. You can sit comfortably in this position for a longer period of time without cutting of the flow to the brain. In addition, when you're leaning forward, you give the impression that you are interested in what is being said. That's a good impression to make on your teacher.

A - Ask Questions
A friend once said, " As soon as you start worrying about looking stupid, you become stupid". Get rid of your Fear of Image and participate in class. Ask questions, raise your hand, offer ideas and get involved in the process of learning.

Here are great reasons to ask questions in class:

  1. It will help you get the information you need, in the way that you need it.

  2. You can actually help make your teacher better. Each time you ask a question, you're letting them know which things are hard to grasp, which things are making sense and what information is interesting to you. This helps the teacher. They can go back and rewrite the curriculum so that it is more effective for the next student.

  3. It shows that you are interested and conscientious. That makes a great impression.

Y - "Yes" Head
The human animal is designed with eyes on front of it's head. We are attracted to motion. Teachers often stand up in front of a sea of lifeless bodies. Any motion will stand out. Use your head to get noticed and to give positive feedback to the teacher. Gently nod your head to let them know that you are paying attention and understanding what they are saying. They will spot you and will be attracted by the movement of your head. This is another way to get noticed for a positive behavior.

E - Expression
Use your face to give feedback to the teacher. Most students sit down and put a bored or defensive look on their face. This sends poor feedback to the teacher and allows that to form a bad impression of the student. Put a little life in your face. Smile, lift your eyebrows, laugh....let them know you're there and that you are alert.

R - Relationship
Here's the best kept secret in town: "Teachers are people". That's right. They have lives outside of the school's walls and some of them are actually pretty cool and interesting. they have hobbies, listen to music, watch movies, play sports and some of them even dance....imagine that. The point is, make an effort to get to know them a bit. Say "hello" on the way into class and ask them how their weekend was. After class, approach them with specific questions that you didn't get a chance to ask during class. The more you interact with them, the more human they become. No need to be intimidated. Teachers are good people who have dedicated their lives to helping others. Get to know them, they are a special breed.

That's it. PLAYER is the simplest way to improve your grades. Use these simple techniques to expand your attention span, give feedback to your teachers, build relationships with your teachers, increase your confidence and become and all-star in the game of school.
