Following the Win As Much As You Can (X and Y) game, the group discussed
three methods for improving
a leaders ability to enable cooperation.
Be A Model
Practice what you preach. Be sure that your behaviors
and your values match. Stand for something and let others know about it.
Be a role model that others can look to as a guide. Never be afraid to be
different.
Frequency Of Interaction
If you want people to stay on course and be supportive of your vision,
make sure that you interact with them frequently. Allow them to ask lots
of questions and make sure that they fully understand what's going on at
all times. If something changes, get everyone together and let them know.
Make And Keep Agreements
When you meet with your team, make agreements about what will happen next,
who is responsible for what and when things need to be done. Work hard to
keep these agreements. This will build trust and loyalty. If an agreement
gets broken, talk about it right away and make any necessary adjustments
as a team.
