 Your goals are our goals!

The Year Long Partnership has been specifically designed to support your Gear Up cohort. Our goal is to deliver a series of supplemental and advanced training experiences that get outstanding results and maximize the benefit students receive from being involved with Gear Up.

Objectives that we take seriously:

 Objective 1:  Each year of project participation, GEAR UP participants will have higher school attendance rates than comparable non-participants.
Objective 2: GEAR UP participants will complete their current grade level each year and advance to the next grade level at a higher rate than comparable non-participants.
Objective 3: GEAR UP participants in grades 9-12 will complete at least four college prep courses each semester with a grade of C or better at a higher rate than comparable non-participants.
Objective 4: GEAR UP high school seniors will take college entrance exams at a higher rate and will receive higher scores than comparable non-participants.


How are we going to do this?
The Gear Up for Excellence Year Long Partnership is a year long leadership training program designed to:
  • breed confidence.
  • instill strong values.
  • teach core accelerated learning skills.
  • increase community involvement amongst teens.
  • enhance Gear Up visibility in the community.
  • develop powerful leadership capabilities.
  • apply tangible and specific skills in real-world conditions.

This is just the first year. Each new year will expand the base of students that we are able to reach and allow us to generate an even greater impact in the community
