Speakers Bio:
Jonathan Pereira
is a Chicago based performer and educator. As an actor,
he has worked with American Theatre Company, Chicago
Shakespeare, Piven Theater, Festival Theatre, Theatre at
the Center, Circle Theatre, Naked Eye, and Improv
Olympic, among many others. His solo works, Tastes
Like Chicken and American Cake, have been
presented at the Live Bait Theatre, Improv Olympic,
Around the Coyote, and Orlando Fringe Festival. The
Chicago Reader has called him “… a mesmerizing performer
with a gift for physical comedy…”
As an educator, he has worked in many in non-traditional
education settings. Specifically, leading canoe trips
for teens in Canada, teaching summer science for inner
city youth, and many workshops for children at various
museums throughout Chicago.
